The background
You’ll walk along a beautiful section of the North Teign River – one of Dartmoor’s most beautiful rivers, – explore local footpaths that have potentially been in existence since Chagford was a centre for trade in tin and wool, understand why so many artisans have chosen to make Chagford their base and then have time to appreciate the great local independent businesses that make this town so special.
If visiting in the summer, we can adapt so you can finish the experience at the Chagford Swimming Pool – a lovely river-fed outdoor pool.

What to bring
Sturdy shoes with grip – trainers / walking boots are fine, waterproof jacket and trousers (whatever the forecast), jumper/sweater/warm layers including a woolly hat and gloves at either end of the season, suncream and sunhat on hotter days and drinks and a snack or lunch depending on the length of the experience.
